Our experience with Macaulay Travel was amazing and unique. Any group, especially one with children, looking for an unforgettable and personalized experience in the Scottish Highlands would be incredibly fortunate to arrange a booking with Emma and her team. Our family of eleven traveled to Edinburgh and Inverness (including a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 1/2 year old). I communicated with Emma at first to organize transportation and site seeing to take us from Edinburgh to Inverness. Before long, we had asked Emma to organize three additional days (a full Outlander tour day, sites around Inverness, and then a day on the Isle of Skye). We had two vehicles each day. Emma and Fiona were wonderful drivers and guides. Having two vehicles allowed for greater flexibility of itinerary and timing of activities with the children. Fiona stayed with the children more than once while they were napping in the car. We were so glad that we were not part of a large tour group with a tightly planned itinerary, and in fact most tour groups don't accept small children. Instead we were able to work with Emma to plan exciting days that were paced appropriately for our group. Emma even gave me suggestions for restaurants in Inverness and helped us to find an amazing professional babysitter so my daughter could go out with us in the evenings. Emma and Fiona are very fun and have a great deal of knowledge to share. We all enjoyed our time with them immensely and can't imagine having done this trip without them. I should mention that there were some great snacks and whiskey as well! The entire experience was fantastic and truly memorable; I can't recommend Emma and Macaulay Travel more highly!

My husband and I had an amazing time on our private tour of the Highlands with Emma! She was so friendly and knowledgeable about all the places we visited and the things we saw. She created an itinerary based on the things we most wanted to see to make the tour personal for us. She also made sure we returned to our cruise ship with plenty of time to spare, so we never had to worry about rushing back. Emma’s car was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable. She even brought along some local candy and drinks for us to try! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Emma went above and beyond to make our day enjoyable, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a private tour of the Highlands!

Emma crafted a wonderful trip fulfilling my wishes to see sights not previously seen on another bespoke tour with her. I appreciated her expertise and knowledge about all the areas we went to. She was patient, helpful and respectful. Communication was excellent and amenities were great.

Cash, our Travel guide and driver, truly loves his wonderful Scotland. He is a true example of patriotism and pride in his heritage. All of these aspects of his country show proudly in his tour. We were told so much history and family history, I felt we were home. Cash works his family farm and helps with tours when needed. He was the shining star in our tour. He even convinced me to try Haggis, which was incredibly a great, toasted sandwich. We were able to experience so many places with no rush, had incredible snacks and drink, and even fell in love with his chocolate marshmallow cookies. I would do this tour again.
